The speaker is Kevin Nolan, currently completing his PhD in astrophysics, involving the design and development of image analysis software for the European Space Agency's Integral Space Probe, which was launched in October 2002. Kevin is Co-ordinator for Ireland for The Planetary Society, founded by the late Carl Sagan.
